PM Modi pays tribute to Rajiv Gandhi on death anniversary

India is gearing up for the Lok Sabha election results on 23 May. The competition between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi of BJP and Congress party has gotten tighter. In spite of political differences, Modi ensured to pay tributes to India's former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi who belonged to Congress party.

Congress President Rahul Gandhi and Secretary Priyanka Gandhi paid tributes to their father Rajiv Gandhi early morning on Tuesday. Many other political leaders including former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and President Pranab Mukherjee was also present at Veer Bhumi, which is the memorial of Rajiv Gandhi. Many other political leaders also paid their tributes by tweeting on their social media.
"My father was gentle, loving, kind & affectionate. He taught me to love & respect all beings. To never hate. To forgive. I miss him. On his death anniversary, I remember my father with love & gratitude, tweeted Congress President Rahul Gandhi.

Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated at Sri Perumbudur in Tamil Nadu in the year 1991 while campaigning for the Sri Perumbudur Lok Sabha candidate.
