Cricket World Cup - New Zealand beat Lanka

The third match of the ongoing ICC World Cup 2019 was played between New Zealand and Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka lost the match and New Zealand won by 10 wickets and with 203 balls to spare.

The victory is being attributed to the strong bowling line of the New Zealand team. Martin Guptill and Colin Munro also helped the team chase the target of 137 runs without losing any wickets.

New Zealand won the toss and decided to bowl first and Sri Lankan team made 136 runs.

Matthew James Henry was awarded the Player of the Match.

Social media user Naresh Kumar‏ tweeted,As expected New Zealand won match easily defeating Sri Lanka by 10 wickets as they scored requisite 137 runs without losing any wicket with brisk 73 from Guptill & aggressive 58 by Munro punishing the Sri Lankan bowlers at ICC World Cup ODI 2019. Henry won man of match award. "

While another match was played between Afghanistan and Australia. Afghanistan batted first and set a target of 208 runs for Australia to chase.

Australia won the match by 7 wickets with 91 balls remaining. Afghanistan batted first and set a target of 208 runs for Australia to chase.

David Warner made 89 runs and was named Player of the Match.

Fans remained optimistic and shared on social media.
