Dear Bhavna, I have a 6 year old son with autism who is getting set to join a new school. How can I prepare him for this?

Ans – Thanks for writing to us. There are some things you can do to make the transition smoother. One would be to meet your child’s teacher to share the details about your child’s needs. Also visit the classroom before the term starts with your child so he can get familiar with the layout. Start the routine he will be observing two weeks before the school term begins so his sleep patterns/eating habits are set. Reading to him stories about children going to school could also help.
