Heavy rains hits Mumbai on Friday

Monsoons have finally arrived in Mumbai. Heavy rains were reported in various parts of the city since Friday morning. This has come as a huge relief from the scorching summer heat that had gripped the city for the past couple of months. Heavy traffic jams were reported across Mumbai due to the rains. There was waterlogging and flooding in certain parts of Mumbai which made normal life come to a standstill in one of the biggest cities in the world. Many social media users expressed their happiness over the showers that was much needed in the city.
The rains have come with a bang to Mumbai this morning. And I must express my admiration for architect Raja Aederi who designed Mahindra Towers in Worli. His integration of a plaza with lush greenery makes this place a magical location to work in when the rain God's are at play-Anand Mahindra, Chairman, Mahindra Group.
Apart from Juhu, Vile Parle and Mulund, rains were reported in Vasai and Thane as well. The temperatures dropped to 24 degree Celsius and the humidity was reported to be 88 percent. Weather forecast reports that Mumbai and nearby places is going to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall in the next couple of days. But like every year, commuters are struggling to move around in the city after the showers.
