Pune businessmen help out village school kids with bicycles
Fifteen businessmen from Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad have started an initiative called Cause under which they collect used bicycles from people who no longer need them. These are then repaired and painted.
The cycles are being given to school-going children in villages who do not have means of transport. It has been found that children in villages often drop out of schools because they are located far away and they cannot walk such a long distance.
The group is spreading the word about their plan so that people can donate old, unused bicycles.
In the last one month 50 old cycles have been redone and given to students who need them.
