Stroke victims face higher chances of depression

A recent study on stroke victims has found that the chances of depression are eight times more in the first three months after an attack.

More than one lakh stroke patients were observed in the study. 25% of them were diagnosed with depression within a span of two years of getting the stroke, while half of the patients went onto depression within three months of the stroke.

The causes of depression in stroke patients were old age, feelings of loneliness, to name a few.
