Petition draws attention to lack of Braille rupee notes
The National Association for the Blind has filed a petition in the Bombay High Court drawing attention to the difficulty faced by the blind in identifying rupee notes and coins.
The court has asked the Reserve Bank of India to give an answer to this in four weeks.
The NAB has asked the RBI to include features in coins and rupee notes to make it easy for the blind to identify them easily.
Blind people find it hard to understand the notes and coins of so many different values. Earlier coins were raised so it was possible to identify them with touch.
Today coins and notes don't have such features which makes it difficult for the blind to make out the difference.
