Children’s home to replace Punjab’s Braille Bhawan
The Braille Bhawan in Ludhiana will now be converted into a children’s home. This means that the visually impaired will lose the opportunity they have to learn.
The Braille Bhawan has a school for the blind, a library and a Braille printing press.
It also has a centre that offers skills training and two hostels - for boys and girls.
The Braille Bhawan was recently in the news for building the first e-toilets in Punjab.
Local authorities have written to the state government asking if the children's home can be built at a different place.
