Signs of social anxiety disorder
Social anxiety disorder or social phobia is when a person has an unreasonable fear of social situations.
People with social anxiety disorder may avoid meeting unknown people in social situations because they are afraid that they will be judged. They can also expect things to happen that will make them feel ashamed.
People with this disorder often spend a lot of time thinking about how they behaved in a social interaction.
The disorder also affects their physical health. It can cause the heart to beat faster than usual, an upset stomach, tension in the muscles, to name a few.
