Air pollution can cause Alzheimer’s disease, says study

Researchers have found that air pollution increases the risk of Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.

Till now it was known that living in polluted environment causes disease like asthma, lung cancer, and even heart disease. However, the brain also gets affected by long exposure to polluted air.

The study done by American researchers over last 11 years is to be published next week in Translational Psychiatry. It shows the relation between breathing impure air and its effect on the brain over time.
