Chennai students empower street food sellers
A group of students from a college in Chennai are a part of a project that aims to teach cleanliness to street vendors running food stalls.
The project is called ‘Vendors Kingdom’ and aims at overall development of street food vendors, especially those selling chaat items.
Students hold the awareness lectures during weekends and at a time suitable for the sellers.
After the training, the vendors are given with a kit which includes hand gloves, aprons and caps. They are introduced to wholesale sellers.
The idea is to train the vendors with skills that will help them in their business.
