Indian space agency makes significant earning from launch of satellites

Antrix is the arm of the Indian space agency, ISRO that handles satellite launches for foreign governments and private companies.

ISRO charged an average of US$3 million per satellite between 2013 and 2015. This is a major source of income generation for ISRO.

It again made history by launching 104 satellites from seven different countries in a single mission. Out of the 104 satellites, 96 were from US, three from India and one each from Israel, Kazakhstan, Netherlands, Switzerland and the UAE.

Antrix earned revenues of Rs 693 crore between January 2014 and December 2016 getting an average of about Rs 15.75 crore for each satellite launch.
