Google Maps helps family find relative with mental disorder

Google Maps came to the rescue of a family in Bihar who lost a relative who was suffering from a mental health disorder.

23-year-old Ritilesh Rishi was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai after he had an accident. But he could not give the hospital any details about his family.

Two people, a businessman and a social worker, decided to use Google Maps to try and locate Ritilesh’s village in Bihar.

Ritilesh was found by the businessman on 11 February on a road in Mumbai, bleeding. He took him to a hospital for treatment.

Thanks to Google, his village and family were traced.

The businessman paid for Ritilesh’s treatment and for his parent to travel to Mumbai and meet their son.
