Blueberry juice improves brain functioning in elderly
Elderly people should drink blueberry juice to improve brain function, says a new study. The study found that people above 60 years showed better brain function and memory after drinking blueberry juice.
Blueberries are rich in flavonoids, which possess antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. The juice led to improvements in cognitive function, blood flow to the brain and activation of the brain while carrying out memory tests.
Memory power tends to decline with age but is better preserved in older adults who eat a diet rich in plant-based foods.
