9 out of 10 people with autism find jobs with the right training
A new study in the United States shows that with the right support and training, nearly all young people with autism can learn to excel on the job.
Nine out of 10 youth with autism who participated in an intensive job training program found part-time jobs earning minimum wage three months after leaving high school.
The study shows the job potential of youth with autism and also that employers are open to hiring and retaining young people with autism.
The training lasted nine months and the youth spent the last year of their high school interning at hospitals, government offices or banking centers where they received support on the job.
