Grandmothers detect signs of autism faster than parents
A new study has found that grandparents often detect the early signs of autism in kids that may be ignored by the parents.
In most cases, it is the grandmother who spots the sign. This is a good thing as earlier detection can help children and their families.
When autism is detected soon, treatment and therapy can also be started on time. The research was done online in the US and 500 parents of children with autism took part in it.
Around 50% of autism cases were identified by friends and family before the parents of the children.
