Idea & Vodafone merger to create India's largest telecom company
Idea Cellular and Vodafone India have merged to create India’s largest telecom company.
Before the merger, Vodafone ranked as the second and Idea as the third largest telecom company.
The combined company will rank number one in the Indian telecom sector and push Bharti Airtel from number one to number two.
The combined company will have 395 million customers and Rs 80,000 crore in revenue, says a report.
The move has taken place due to the entry of Reliance’s 4G services.
The merger will be completed by the end of this year.
