This floating wheelchair can take the user into water

A floating beach wheelchair will be introduced for the first time during the 10-day beach festival at Candolim in Goa.

This is the initiative of Drishti Lifesaving Services Pvt Ltd. The company will also have four lifeguards – two on shore and two on Jet skis – to be with every swimmer who will use the exclusive floating wheelchair while making a trip into the waters.

This will enable wheelchair users to enjoy the simple joys of floating in the open sea in a safe environment.

Candolim is hosting BeachFest 2017 between 31 March and 9 April where over a 1000 wheelchair users will get together to enjoy the beach experience.

The floating wheelchair allows users to enter the water and move around on the sand. They have been imported from France and will be used for the first time in India.
