Device that helps locate dementia patients who lose their way
A new device called MindMe Locate is now available that helps locate people with dementia who may have wandered or become lost.
Mindme uses satellite technology to locate people. They can carry the device in a pocket or handbag or wear it around their neck like a pendant.
If they get lost, a family member or carer can go to the Mindme website to find out where they are. Mindme Locate gives peace of mind to family and carers. It also means that people in the early stages of dementia or other mental illness do not have to be locked in their homes or move into a care home.
Mindme uses a multi-network SIM card, which means that it will use the best available mobile signal to communicate its location.
