App to help track bipolar disorder developed in Australia
A new app has been developed that could save the lives of people living with bipolar disorder.
The app, developed by the organization SANE Australia, sends a notification to a caregiver or family member when the person with bipolar's activities start behaving differently.
Bipolar disorder is a mental condition where the patient swings between phases of feeling very happy and then feeling very low or depressed.
The app tracks the person's activities and alerts a trusted friend, or family member that the person may be going through a manic episode. This is important as people living with bipolar are at much higher risk of committing suicide.
