26 new genes linked to learning disability identified

Scientists have found that there are 26 new genes that are linked to intellectual disabilities. These genes affect the learning ability of a person.

As per data, more than one in 100 children are affected by learning disability(ies) across the world.

It has also been found that children with this issue may also have symptoms of autism spectrum disorders ad many genes are shared by the two illnesses.

It is hoped that the new discovery will help to get more information about brain development and functioning. It may also help give selective treatment to every individual with the affected genes.
