Young woman with cerebral palsy overcomes depression with exercise
22-year-old Mariana Sfakianakis often reminds her thousands of social media fans that she is not the same girl she once was.
Mariana was born with a permanent condition called cerebral palsy which caused damage to her brain. Her condition affected the movement in her legs, muscle control and balance.
As a young child, she never understood why she was different from other kids. She got bullied for not walking like others and for also using a wheelchair.
This led to major anxiety, depression and she had to go through many surgeries which caused nine scars on her legs.
Mariana who is now a confident young woman said she used exercise and social media to completely change her life.
She is now focused on improving herself and inspiring others to stay strong to overcome problems in life.
