IIT Kharagpur to start teaching Vaastu Shastra

The Indian Institute of Technology in Kharagpur, India’s oldest and largest IIT, will soon start teaching Vaastu Shastra.

Vaastu Shastra is the traditional Hindu system of architecture that involves the study of directions and the layout of a building.

The basics of the subject will be taught to first and second-year undergraduate architecture students from this year.

Post graduate or research scholars in infrastructure will be taught the entire subject in detail.

The management believes that along with western subjects, an Indian version of architecture should also be taught. They believe that Vaastu Shastra is based on scientific concepts and not religion.
