More awareness needed about BHIM app in India, says report

Nearly 35% people living in villages of India are aware of the government’s BHIM (Bharat Interface for Money) app, says a report.

BHIM app makes digital transactions easier and is based on the Unified Payments Interface (UPI).

The app was introduced last year and claims to have over 10 million users in the country.

As per the report, nearly 16% of the participants have downloaded the app and nine percent have full awareness about how to use the BHIM app.

The survey was done on 5,478 village people from across the country.

It is clear with the data that BHIM app is majorly used by people living in cities.

So, the government needs to work more on creating awareness in village areas to increase its users.
