BJP leader files complaint against Anurag Kashyap

August 22, 2019

Over the past few weeks, film-maker and producer Anurag Kashyap has been the target of BJP owing to his many social media posts and statements against the party and its members. A day back, BJP's Delhi Spokesperson Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga has filed a complaint against Kashyap at the Parliament Street Police Station for hurting Sikh religious sentiments through his latest web series Sacred Games 2.

Filed Police complaint against Anurag Kashyap for insulting my religious belief in Sacred Games-2- Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga, BJP Spokesperson from Delhi.

Reportedly, one of the scenes in the web series shows main protagonist, played by Saif Ali Khan, disrespecting the Sikh Kakaars. The holy Kakaar which is a symbol of respect for the Sikhs is shown being thrown away by Khan. Singh has also sent a complaint to the Information and Broadcasting minister as well.

Recently, Akali Dal leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa had also stepped up against Kashyap for the same reason. "Anurag Kashyap deliberatly puts this scene in #SacredGamesS2 where Saif Ali Khan throws his Kada in sea! A KADA is not an ordinary ornament. It's the pride of Sikhs & a blessing of Guru Sahib", tweeted Sirsa. According to reports, even he is looking out to filing a complaint against Kashyap for hurting religious sentiments.

"I strongly support @mssirsa ji for filling a criminal complaint against #AnuragKashyap for Spreading communal content, hurting religious sentiments in his serial #SacredGames We have to stop practice of hurting India Origin Religions (Hindu, Sikh , Buddhist and Jain) sentiments", tweeted BJP leader Khemchand Sharma.
