The Ayodhya verdict is expected to be out anytime soon before 17 November, which is the retirement date of Supreme Court Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi. Ahead of that, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi called for peace. On Wednesday, Modi has asked his cabinet of ministers to refrain from making any unnecessary statements about Ayodhya verdict. Earlier this month during his last edition of radio programme Mann Ki Baat, Modi had mentioned about how certain political parties and groups had tried to create issues when the Allahabad High court was expected to pass a verdict back in the year 2010 regarding Ayodhya.

A few days back, the RSS had also requested its leaders and followers to remain at peace after the verdict comes out. “PM Modi to ministers: No unnecessary statements on Ayodhya, maintain harmony. He also emphasised that the verdict should not be seen through the prism of victory and defeat”, tweeted writer Yusuf Unjhawala.

Meanwhile, security has been tightened across Ayodhya. People who post communal things on social media will also be arrested. According to government sources, all these matters are being closely monitored. Over 12,000 policemen have been deployed across Ayodhya alone. Mumbai and other major cities across the country are also under tight security. “So glad PM has cautioned his ministers on making any unnecessary statements on #Ayodhya . Everyone from top to bottom, needs to be responsible & sensitive”, tweeted Smita Barooah.
