BJP forms government in Haryana

After winning 40 seats in Haryana assembly elections, BJP decided to join hands with the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) with 10 seats to form the state government.
BJP leader Manohar Lal Khattar took oath as Haryana Chief Minister for a second consecutive term while JJP President Dushyant Chautala was sworn-in as Deputy CM yesterday.
Dushyant’s father and JJP founder Ajay Chautala has been granted two-week furlough from Tihar jail to attend the swearing in ceremony.
Ajay Chautala said, “Dushyant asked me if he should go with BJP or Congress. I told him, whatever the circumstances, we shall never go with Congress.” “I gave him the go-ahead to go with BJP,” he added.
Seven independent MLAs from Haryana have also extended support to the BJP and taken up the tally to 57 seats in the 90-member house.
Several social media users posted congratulatory messages.
Dr Suchitra Raghavachari tweeted,”Congratulations and many wishes Sir, for a successful term for the team led by CM #ManoharLalKhattar & deputy CM #DushyantChautala towards a resurgent Haryana with good governance, development & security for all.”
