BJP says no to form government in Maharashtra

The political crisis in Maharashtra continues as BJP has refused to form the government after being invited by the state Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari.
“We fought under the banner of grand alliance. Shiv Sena doesn’t want to come with us. Shiv Sena has betrayed mandate. If Shiv Sena wants to form government with Congress-NCP then we extend our good wishes,” said Maharashtra BJP President Chandrakant Patil.
Governor Koshyari had invited BJP with 105 seats to form the government and prove its majority in the assembly today since it has not been able to come to a consensus about power sharing with its ally Shiv Sena.
As per reports, Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari has now invited Shiv Sena to express its interest in forming the government. Shiv Sena has been given time till 7.30 pm today to respond.
Congress leader Milind Deora tweeted, “Maharashtra’s Governor should invite NCP-Congress – the second largest alliance – to form the government now that BJP-Shiv Sena have refused to do so.”
