Case against ex BJP leader in girl missing case

August 29, 2019

Since the past few days, video of a 23 year old girl has been doing the rounds on social media in which she can be seen accusing the powerful management of her law college against harassment and exploitation of students. The girl has been missing now and her father has filed a case against former BJP leader and three time MP from Lucknow Swami Chinmayanand who is the head of the management. In the complaint, father of the missing girl has also alleged that his daughter was sexually harassed by the former leader.

Last month, former BJP leader Kuldeep Singh Sengar from Uttar Pradesh was arrested in connection with the rape and attempted murder of young girl from Unnao. This new case against Swami Chinmayanand has put pressure on the Uttar Pradesh government under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath to nab culprits at the earliest.

Law Student Who Accused BJP Leader Swami Chinmayanand Of Sexual Harassment Goes Missing! Adityanath's police does nothing. Another Unnao in the offing in lawless UP?-Prashant Bhushan, Public Interest Lawyer and Activist.

According to reports, the girl who is from Swami Sukhdevanand Post Graduate College in Shahjahanpur, around 300 kms away from Lucknow, used to live in the college hostel. Lawyer of the accused Swami Chinmayanand said that allegations are baseless and aimed to tarnish image of a reputed personality like him.

According to reports, a rape case was filed against Swami Chinmayanand in 2011 by a woman who used to stay in his ashram. The victim alleged that she was raped for several years by the Swami. Even though a charge-sheet was filed, the accused was never arrested.

"In 2018 Yogi Govt tried to withdraw a prior sexual assault case against Chinmayanand. Why?Today, ADG Avinash Chandra claims charge of sexual harassment not in FIR as allegation yet to be verified! Who will verify for UP Police? CM's permission required?", tweeted Jayant Chaudhary, former Member of Parliament.
