Chargesheets filed in Chinmayanand case

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has filed chargesheets in the rape case against former Union Minister Chinmayanand and also in the extortion case against the rape survivor student.
BJP leader Chinmayanand has been accused by a 23 year old law student of prolonged physical abuse and exploitation.
The same student is also accused of allegedly blackmailing Chinmayanand with the help of some other people.
It has come to light that five people including BJP leaders from Uttar Pradesh were involved in blackmailing Chinmayanand and were for trying to extort ₹1.25 crore from him.
Naveen Arora, the head of the SIT said, “We managed to file chargesheets in less than two months. In both investigations, we questioned 105 people, recovered 20 pieces of evidence and also a lot of digital evidences and Call Data Records. We recovered 55 paper trails and are submitting case diaries and chargesheets running into 4,700 pages.”
Police has identified a BJP leader involved in extortion as DPS Rathore who is the younger brother of JPS Rathore, the vice president of the party’s Uttar Pradesh unit.
While Chinmayanand and the law student are already in jail, DPS Rathore is not yet arrested.
