Cyclone Bulbul passes West Bengal

Cyclone Bulbul created destruction across West Bengal before it weakened on Sunday. There were heavy rains in different parts of the state which began on Saturday and went on till Sunday. According to reports, there have been over four deaths in various parts of West Bengal in rain related accidents. Most of the coastal places in the state were on high alert before Cyclone Bulbul moved to Bangladesh. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held talks with Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and assured all help.
Reviewed the situation in the wake of cyclone conditions and heavy rain in parts of EasternIndia. Spoke to WB CM @MamataOfficial regarding the situation arising due to Cyclone Bulbul. Assured all possible assistance from the Centre. I pray for everyone’s safety and well-being-Narendra Mod, Prime Minister of India.
The weather department had strictly instructed fishermen to not go to the sea until they get further notice from officials. Various relief camps were set up in the state.
All the flights to and from Kolkata airport were cancelled after safety warning were issued. The services have been restored now. “Closely monitoring the situation as cyclone Bulbul hits Eastern India. We are continuously in touch with central & state relief agencies.
Have spoken to CM @MamataOfficial and have assured all possible help. I pray to almighty for those who are braving out this adverse weather”, tweeted Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
