Deaf Welfare Foundation’ unique international fete aims to bring deaf people together

The Deaf Welfare Foundation-DWF is all set to host a one of its kind event this month in Koduvally, Kerala. The event is named ‘1st Deaf Fete International’ and will see deaf artists and celeberities from across the world coming together to perform at one platform.
Deaf Welfare Foundation has been working to bring the deaf community together in the region for many years. The members of the NGO have been working primarily in South India. Since its foundation in 2008, DWF has been aiming to bring the deaf people together to improve their understanding and awareness about rights, opportunities and growth prospects.
International Deaf Celebs
This year DWF is inviting deaf people to attend the first ever Deaf Fete International at the Nalanda Hotel in Kozhikode on 22 December. The program will be attended by deaf people from other countries as well celebrities such as Boryana Topchieva from Bulgaria, Imane Lachis from Spain will enthrall the audience. Boryana Topchieva is a deaf person, she is a vlogger, translator, an avid sportsperson, social media celebrity with her own show, a traveler, a parent and also an author.
Boryana shared her excitement about coming to India and said,” I am so happy to be coming to India for this program. I hope to meet the deaf people in India and interact with them. I hope the trip will be a fun and learning experience for me.”
Wing Chu from Hong Kong, Maristell Li Puma from Italy will also interact with the participants and give presentations on important topics related to the deaf community. ‘YADI – Youth Association of the Deaf India’ member , model and Vlogger Chintu Verma will also attend the event and share his experiences and thoughts with the audience. Deaf Welfare Foundation is promising a day of fun, enjoyment and infotainment for people who attend the fete.
Organisers Are Excited Too
The organizers are delighted to host the unique event and hope that it will help create awareness about deaf people in the society.
The event is first of its kind and we are happy that we are organizing this program. We have hosted many domestic events but this is the first time that international deaf celebrates will be joining us to be a part of the event. Through various programs DWF has also been spreading information about the need for education amongst the deaf people. The NGO has been reaching out to people who are deaf from all walks of life such as deaf students, youth and older generation and encouraging them to share with others.
