On Monday, almost all Google services including Gmail, YouYube and Drive were down in India as well as many other countries. It impacted millions of Internet users worldwide. The disruption started at around 5 pm on Monday after which it was restored within a few minutes. People were unable to login or access services.

DownDetector that tracks web outrages showed that YouTube was the worst affected with over 24,000 cases being reported in a few minutes. “We are aware that many of you are having issues accessing YouTube right now – our team is aware and looking into it. We’ll update you here as soon as we have more news”, tweeted Team YouTube.

Gmail showed over 11,000 cases reported. Google Drive and Google website showed 500 and 15,000 reports.

In November, YouTube had faced a similar issue which had caused outrage worldwide. But they managed to rectify the error within a couple of hours.

As Google services went down, people started switching over to other browsers in order to make the situation better. Apps and smart devices were also affected by the outrage.
