India wins test match by 318 runs

India has won the first Test match of the two-match series against West Indies by a huge margin of 318 runs.
The win has helped India score 60 points in the World Test Championship tally. India vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane won the man of the match title and scored 163 runs while the bowlers shined throughout and took a total of 18 wickets.
For Rahane it was his first century in the last two years. "I dedicate this award to the people who have backed me for the last one and a half to two years," he said.
With this victory, Captain Virat Kohli has equaled the record set by former captain MS Dhoni of leading the team to max wins in the Test match format of the game .
Virat has a higher win percentage of 55.31% as compared to 45% win percentage of MS Dhoni. Virat has also surpassed Sourav Ganguly' stats of most Test wins in overseas matches for India as the captain. Kohli now has 12 away wins as captain in 26 matches, while Ganguly had 11 wins in 28 games during his career.
Rohit Sharma was not included in the squad for the test match. Kohli defended his decision after the match and said, "We have a group discussion and then we decide what's best for the team. There will always be opinions about the XI, but people will know that it's in the interest of the team."
"I am taking decisions, yes, but execution is done by others who raise their hand. We enjoy everyone's company, and that's the reason for our success," Kohli added.
