NewzHook series #JobsForDisabled brings you the story of Pradeep More, who works with Cart With Heart, a retail service business initiative. As Sales Head, Pradeep, who is deaf, has his work cut out ensuring that targets are met. He loves the fact that he gets to use his skills motivating youth with disabilities.

Heading sales at a retail services business initiative is a tough job. It means working with different teams and keeping them motivated so targets are met. Pradeep More, who is deaf, is more than up to it.

Pradeep, 31 years old, is Sales Head at Cart With Heart (CWH), which has recently set up operations in India. CWH aims to empower people with disabilities by providing them with job opportunities. The venture has started in Mumbai where CWH is partnering with a green start-up to sell eco-friendly bags across three Mumbai Metro stations.

For Pradeep sales is a new experience and he loves every bit of it. His role has many aspects, among the key ones being interviewing potential deaf candidates and training them.

I started working at the age of 22 and initially I was into teaching and empowerment. Sales is something very different. Here, I have a large team of deaf people working under me who manage the carts at the Metro stations and do the merchandise and the billing. I counsel them, visit locations, check sales counts and motivate them to deliver the targets. – Pradeep More, Sales Head, Cart With Heart

Pradeep is happy that he is part of an inclusive set up where he gets to motivate people with disabilities. “As a young deaf person, I am excited to work with other disabled youth and motivate them. As they are deaf, I encourage them to find ways to communicate with customers effectively”.

Cart With Heart Co-founder Amit Arondekar calls Pradeep among the most cherished members of the team. “Pradeep brings in a lot of freshness every single day he comes to work. The accolades the brand gets for customer service is a result of his dedication and consistency. There is never a dull moment around him”.

That’s high praise indeed!
