Kejriwal not under house arrest, says Delhi police

As farmer protests intensifies in Delhi, state-ruling Aam Admi Party (AAP) claimed that chief minister Arvind Kejriwal is under house arrest. But Delhi police denied the claims stating that his house has been blocked due to the Bharat Bandh that was called for on Tuesday by protesting farmers and organizations that supported them.
“Important : BJP’s Delhi Police has put Hon’ble CM Shri @ArvindKejriwal under house arrest ever since he visited farmers at Singhu Border yesterday No one has been permitted to leave or enter his residence”, tweeted AAP’s official Twitter handle.
As Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia tried to visit Kejriwal by afternoon, he claimed that head of the state was being mistreated by central government. The reason- he denied permission for stadiums to be used as jails for protesting farmers. Kejriwal visiting protesting farmers on Monday had reportedly irked the BJP led central government who are in talks with farmers to reform the three farm bills.
In a press conference, AAP spokesperson Saurabh Bhardwaj said that police had beaten up a few of AAP MLA’s who had tried to meet the chief minister. “Party volunteers were also not allowed”, he added.
Kejriwal’s house was completely barricaded and no one was allowed to enter or exit the premises.
