The law student from Uttar Pradesh who had earlier accused 72 year old BJP leader Swami Chinmayanand of harassment in a viral video has now accused him of rape.
The 23 year old woman is a student of a law college in Uttar Pradesh's Shahjahanpur. She has said that former union minister Chinmayanand had raped her repeatedly and filmed the act which he was using to blackmail her. As per the girl the physical abuse had continued for a year before she decided to come forward against Chinmayanand.
The student has given her statement to Delhi police, a magistrate and also theSupreme Court-appointed Special Investigation Team (SIT). She has reportedly given proof of the abuse to the SIT and her hostel room was searched by the investigating teams for several hours and evidence was collected.
The SIT reportedly took the complainant to a hospital for medical examination.
The woman spoke to the media and said that Shahjahanpur police was not ready to file a FIR against the BJP leader.
She said, "On Sunday, the SIT quizzed me for about 11 hours. I have told them about the rape. Even after telling them everything, they have not arrested Chinmayanand yet." "I have sufficient evidence to prove Chinmayanand guilty and all of them will be handed over to the SIT at the right time, she added.
The law student had released a video last month seeking help from authorities as she was allegedly being threatened. She had then gone missing on 24 August and was located after six days in Rajasthan by the police.
After she was found, Supreme Court took suo motu cognisance of the case and asked the authorities to start investigation into the allegations and provide protection to the girl as well.
Meanwhile a video has gone viral on social media that appears to be that of Chinmayanand receiving a massage from a woman.
