Pearl Special Needs Foundation has been changing the lives of children and young adults with disabilities for years through its holistic approach. The foundation offers a wide range of services and training to the children and teenagers with disabilities with the aim to make them as independent as possible and also to help them realize their potential.

The vocational centre of Ahmedabad based Pearl Special Needs Foundation- PSNF gives training to children in various fields.
Teachers, trainers and staff members work patiently with the children so that the learning process is not rushed and every child gets the opportunity to learn at individual pace.

Our focus is on making the children independent to make sure that they have a chance at a better future. We work as a team with the parents for the development of the children and that helps in a complete and holistic growth of our kids. Skill training is very vital for people with disabilities as that provides them the financial independence and also paves the way for them to be a part of the mainstream life. Every child is unique and we try to explore their strengths and abilities and teach them according to their abilities. Dr Griva Shah Managing Trustee, Co-founder, Pearl Special Needs Foundation.

Products made by PSNF children are famous in the area for their exquisite beauty, high quality, craftsmanship and are a huge hit every festive season. Some of the products include concrete candle stands, note holders, fridge magnets, pots, bookmarks, diaries, coasters, candles, soaps etc.

This year too the children have been working whole heartedly to make the products and these will be put up for sale during a two day exhibition cum sale event on this weekend. The products are also available for purchase at the retails outlet.

Children learn the process of making these products from scratch and with some practice they are able to complete the whole process independently.

“The most important thing is to exercise patients and treat the children with affection and respect. They are good learners and once they understand a task they can perform it without any hassle. For children with disabilities and disorders, the learning process may take time but the end results are amazing and worth the efforts we make”, says Shweta Trivadi, Head teacher PSNF

Pearl Special Needs Foundation has children with various disabilities and conditions. The organization has students with autism, Deafblindness, multiple disabilities, physical disabilities, other developmental disabilities as well. Every child is given a nurturing and caring environment to help them bloom and learn. The foundation gives academic, skill training and also focuses on emotional needs of the students. Helping the students develop their personalities and gain confidence is a huge part of the skill training.

Shailly Sood, a parent says,” My son has autism and has been going to PSNF for the last three years. I am extremely happy with the way the organization and teachers take care of children. A very high standard of quality is maintained when it comes to teaching and training the children with disabilities and disorders. There are no compromises made and every child is treated with perfection which shows in the way children blossom at PSNF.”

Children of PSNF also take part in internship programs with other organizations, offices and companies in the region to ensure that they learn skills that make them financially independent in the long run.
