Modi-Xi Jinping informal summit begins today

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese president Xi Jinping are all set to meet this month and strengthen ties between both nations. The informal meeting is scheduled for October 10 and 11 at Chennai. They had met at Wuhan in China last April. Officials point out that this latest meeting will deepen relationship between both India and China.
The Archaeological Survey of India has shut down tourist spots at Mahabalipuram near Chennai as part of the Modi- Xi Jinping visit.

Ahead of his visit, Xi Jinping cleared China’s stand on the Kashmir issue by saying that it is an internal issue. China, which has been supporting Pakistan at various matters, has come up with this latest statement favouring India. They had stated that both the nations must engage in dialogue and try to resolve it amongst themselves. China also took a dig at the United States of America for trying to get involved in the matter. “Chinese President Xi Jinping will visit Chennai on Oct 11-12 for the 2nd Informal Summit with @PMOIndia @narendramodi The two leaders are expected to discuss overarching issues of bilateral, regional, global importance and steps on deepening the India-China Partnership”, tweeted journalist Siddharth Zarabi.
