Pondicherry based Ammeg Brand Management Solutions-ABMS is all set to host its inclusive photo exhibition Spixels 2019. The exhibition will feature more than 80 photographs clicked by children and adults with disabilities.

ABMS has successfully organized events and festivals and aims to bring about social change and encourage people to think not just for themselves but also for others in need. Spixels 2019 has received a massive response with hundreds of photographs submitted by enthusiastic photographers with disabilities. The theme for the images to be captured this year was “Inclusive Society, Inclusive Workspace.”

The online submissions capture the essence of life as seen by disabled children. The voices of children with disabilities are rarely heard and the exhibition is an opportunity to take a peek into how they see the world around them.

Meghna Agnihotri, Creative Head & Chief Curator at Ammeg Brand Management Solutions says that the aim of the event is to give a platform to children with disabilities where they can express themselves.

Our aim is to create awareness about inclusion and let other people see what disabled people feel and perceive. We want the children to feel that they are a part of the society and their views, expressions and feelings are equally important. The participation of children also makes their parents happy and we hope to bring this little joy to them. – Meghna Agnihotri, Ammeg Brand Management Solutions.

The exhibition will be judged by an esteemed jury and five top photographs will be selected. These five photographs will be autographed by one of the most loved Indian film industry star Amitabh Bachchan. The autographed images will then be sent to the winners and they can cherish them forever.

The jury will consists of noted film producer Samir Sarkar famous for films such as the ‘Life of Pi’ and Dr Nishad Plakkal, JIPMER, Pondicherry who is also an avid and passionate photographer.

The ABMS team has been working earnestly to make the exhibition on 21 December a grand success. Adding to the team’s morale is the guidance of Media Head Sanjeev Singh. Sanjeev Singh is also the Chief National Media Coordinator of All India Congress Committee-AICC. He belongs to a family of freedom fighters and has been dedicated to social work. His idea of a progressive future is a world where people with disability are a part of the mainstream and not isolated behind barriers or labels.

“The biggest joy his team Spixels gets is when these specially abled understand the theme of photography contest and then they go out to find the moments depicting it, thus showcasing the simple interpretation of the situations of the society. It’s a wonderful feeling to motivate these individuals to go an extra mile to capture their vision and communicate it to the society. The memories created are lifelong,” he says.

A picture says a thousand words and can make an everlasting impression on the viewer. The Spixels 2019 exhibition will hopefully stimulate conversations about inclusion and help people understand why it is important to create an inclusive world without barriers and discrimination.
