PM Modi arrives in Bangkok

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at Bangkok on Saturday. On his three day visit to the country of Thailand, Modi will attend the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN)-India summit and look into ways for enhancing trade relations between both the countries. On Saturday evening, Modi attended a community programme as well.
Reached Thailand to take part in the ASEAN related Summits including the India-ASEAN Summit and other programmes. I look forward to interacting with world leaders as well as Thailand’s dynamic Indian community during this visit-Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India.
One of the biggest things in the list is going to be whether India will become a part of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) trade deal. If India does, it will enhance trade ties between India and many South Asian countries. The meet is scheduled for Monday and will be attended by some of the top leaders from across the world.
Countries that are members of ASEAN are Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia, Singapore, Philippines, Vietnam and Brunei. Apart from enhancing trade ties, leaders are also likely to discuss about issues pertaining to terrorism, maritime security and migration matters. “A welcome straight from the heart. Waving the tricolour with pride and bright smiles, members of the Indian community in Thailand welcomed PM @narendramodi in Bangkok”, tweeted Raveesh Kumar, Spokesperson, Ministry of External Affairs, India.
