Sikh girl kidnapped in Pakistan returns home

A few days back, a Sikh girl named Jagjit Kaur was kidnapped and taken to Pakistan to be converted to Islam. The 19 year old was then forcibly married to a Pakistani guy. This had created quite a stir amongst the Sikh community who demanded that Kaur be brought back at the earliest. She has now returned to her home town and is re-united with parents. Eight people have been arrested in connection with the incident.
A video of the Kaur's family talking about her kidnap and conversion was shared by many prominent leaders. Reportedly, the Kaur's father is a priest at Gurudwara Tambu Sahib.

Kaur's family has stepped up and said that even they are under threat to be converted to Islam. They have requested Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan to ensure their protection and safety. Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh ensured that strict action will be taken against the culprits.
"Shocking incident of a Sikh girl being kidnapped & forced to convert to Islam in Nankana Sahib, Pakistan. Call upon @ImranKhanPTI to take firm and immediate action against the perpetrators. Request @DrSJaishankar to strongly take up the issue with his counterpart at the earliest", tweeted Captain Amarinder Singh, Chief Minister of Punjab.
