Sourav Ganguly all set to become BCCI President

Former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly is all set to take over as the next President for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The decision came out by late Sunday evening. Ganguly, who has served as the captain for Indian cricket team for many years, is one of the finest cricketers that the country has witnessed. This new title was indeed something for his huge fan following to cheer for.

Monday was the last date to file nominations, but elections were not held. Since Ganguly had not opponents to take up the position, the decision is final and closed. Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s son Jay Shah will be the new secretary and Arun Dhumal will be the upcoming treasurer.
Ganguly, who is currently the President of Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) will step up as BCCI head by next year. Brijesh Patel, who was also a likely candidate for the position, will be the chief of Indian Premier League (IPL). “#SouravGanguly set to become BCCI President.
