Top Court to hear petition on Maharashtra government formation

After week’s long suspense, formation of the Maharashtra government was announced on Saturday. Devendra Fadnavis claimed the majority and rose to power back again. But a petition was filed by Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress parties at the Supreme Court to which the top court responded soon. Supreme Court ordered that the central government run by BJP must produce two letters. The first letter must show that Fadnavis’ claims of a majority and the second one showing the governor asking him for a majority. Many people took to social media to share their opinions.
Almost all NCP MLAs attended Mr. Sharad Pawar’s meeting. The Supreme Court will receive either a forged document of support or a document with signatures obtained under false pretense. Either way, BJP & Ajit Pawar are likely to commit a crime in front of the Supreme Court-Salman Anees Soz, Author.
Apart from Fadnavis, the notices were issued to Ajit Pawar along with state and central governments. The letters must be submitted today by 10.30 am. The BJP government responded by saying that they need more time to produce the letters.
Today’s hearing at the top court is extremely crucial in Maharashtra politics. There was heavy protests after Fadnavis took oath as chief minister of the state, which many leaders said to be a hasty decision. “If BJP has the numbers, why is it afraid of a floor test today? BJP is doing everything it can to stall the process. SC must call out BJP’s shameless attempt to undermine democracy & order a floor test immediately”, tweeted Congress leader Shama Mohamed.
