It’s that time of the year when there’s a nip in the air in many parts of India.

It might be a good idea to invest in a warm jacket for your child. There’s nothing to beat jackets so your child feels snug. Fabrics like cotton and fleece that are soft on the skin are great for all kids, especially for those on the autism spectrum or have specific sensory needs.

On NH Lifestyle we look at hoodie jackets for boys. Dhananjay or DJ, as this 17-year-old from Jalandhar with autism likes to be called, loves jackets with hoodies, says autism advocate and mom Anjali Dada.

Dhananjay is wearing a hoodie jacket that is dark blue in colour with the word GAP on it.

“DJ feels comfortable in fabrics that are soft to the touch. He can manoeuvre zips with ease and likes simple jackets with hoodies. He prefers to use a hoodie rather than wear a cap separately”.

Featured are hoodie jackets in cotton and fleece priced under ₹ 1,200.

For her son Harshdeep Singh, who is on the spectrum, Manjeet Kaur chooses fabrics with care.

Harshdeep is wearing a blue jacket with a print in green and blue in front.

“I opt for fleece or cotton jackets as Harsh has sensitive skin and tends to break into rashes. He finds jackets with hoodies easy to wear too”.

That’s quite a range, colourful and affordable, for you to choose from!
